I love making table runners! For me, they are the perfect combination of patchwork piecing and quilting. Once I’ve settled on a design, I really enjoy selecting fabrics that will contrast and compliment each other. I then cut them up and sew them back together in a different order! My artistry doesn’t end there though, because I then consider how to quilt the piece. Sometimes I decide on a relatively simple grid or straight lines design, whereas other times I might quilt an all-over free motion design of swirls, leaves or perhaps something else!

Handmade Silver and Blue quilted patchwork table runner, perfect for Christmas and Winter.
It has a modern style and is reversible.
This table runner measures 46.5" (118cm) long by 16" (41cm) wide.
I've used a selection of blue, green, white and silver metallic cotton fabrics on a soft turquoise background to create a pattern of stars within stars. There are also two feature panels which depict birds and winter foliage.
I've quilted around the edges of the stars and bird panels and this stitching goes through to the reverse side, where the quilted stars pattern is visible against the turquoise and white patterned fabric. Hence this table runner is reversible and provides two different looks for your Christmas table!
There is a soft layer of cotton wadding between the front and reverse sides and I've also sewn on a white and silver binding strip all the way around the edges.
Hand washable.
