About WightWeave

WightWeave

I love to weave whilst looking out on my garden watching the birds.

I learned to weave two years ago starting with a small wooden peg loom, this progressed to a larger wooden peg loom and then was followed by several different looms including an Inkle loom. I find weaving mindful, relaxing and helps to keep my brain active! I am inspired by nature and especially like to incorporate crystals into my work. Being a Second Degree Usui Reiki Healer I also attune my work with a Reiki blessing, and hope that my weavings will bring peace happiness and harmony to the purchaser. I usually work in a corner of my living room overlooking my garden and watching the birds, surrounded by looms and different colours and types of yarns. Sometimes I work in my summer house on my larger loom providing it is not too hot! I have been a knitter for over sixty years, and still knit for my family, but weaving is my passion. Exploring my family tree I discovered a very distant relative who worked in a weaving mill as a bobbin carrier aged eight years old, so I suppose you could say that weaving is in my DNA!
