My work is inspired by the ancient technique of repoussé which captured my imagination during my time studying and working in archaeology. I begin with an original design which I hand forge into a sheet of copper to create a tactile work which I hope reflects the depth of the message I aim to convey, whilst also forming a beautiful aesthetic surface. This is then portioned (Rhan) to created individual wearable items cast in precious metal.
My original design concept aims to create a work of art which reflects a relatable theme of which each section can hold its own individual meaning to the wearer - reflecting the two sides of being human; connectivity and individuality. My first collection is called ‘Awaken’ and is inspired by new beginnings, person growth, and liberty in the self. I am currently working on my next collection ‘Persevere’.
