I began handcrafting from a very early age; my mother and grandmother taught me how to sew, embroider, knit and crochet but sewing is my passion and I've always favoured making blankets...they provide a hug just when you need one most, and in my opinion a handmade patchwork quilt gives the best hug of all!
My last profession was as a teacher but my working life was varied and I have been a seamstress on a number of occasions - work I remember fondly. Now I am in the enviable position of working for myself [although some people might call it retirement] and I have the luxury of creating with freedom.
My small business is based in Tamworth, Staffordshire in the heart of England, where I sew quilts on a domestic machine in a small but efficient workspace. The quilts I create are bespoke but utilitarian: they are made to be used and loved and all that entails. The designs I favour create little waste and any remnants I have I use in other projects; scrappy quilts or as cushion fillers. I sell my quilts to fund the fabric for my next creation - so I price them very well.
I am happy to encourage beginner quilters and share my creative process with anyone who is interested, and so I have recently started a YouTube channel: Patchwork Quilts with Diane where you can see my work in progress. It provides an opportunity to see what I offer in detail. Hope you enjoy.

Absolute beautifully handmade quilt, with the help of a household sewing machine. I couldn’t be more happy.
Amazingly packaged with ribbon and even a little lavender bag, plus colour catches for when I wash it. A lovely seller I would certainly buy from her again. Yes very happy.

A beautiful quilt, Soft and stitched with so much care,
I always mean to make myself one but saw Dianes and fell in love with it,
A beautiful quilting pattern, and shall be used for many years if not decades to come,
A lovely envelope included with washing instructions, colour catchers and a card

The thing is, I bought the quilt as a birthday present and the birthday hasn't happened yet. So, i cant really tell you much about the quilt because it is so beautifully and thoughtfully wrapped by Diane. Diane has been outstanding. I mixed up the delivery address and got into a real tizz but she sorted it out quickly and calmly. I am very grateful to her. All I can say is I cant wait to see my partner open it on her birthday. I can tell you all about the actual quilt then but, im very confident it will be another positive review.
