Hi, I’m Lauren – the maker behind Nostalgic Stitch by Lauren

I started creating after my health took an unexpected turn, which meant I had to slow life down and rethink how I spent my time. Crafting became both a creative outlet and a way to keep going – something calming, nostalgic, and joyful on days when everything else felt a bit upside down.

I’m inspired by retro culture, childhood nostalgia, bold colours, quirky details, and the simple comfort of handmade things. Many of my designs are influenced by 80s and 90s pop culture, seaside memories, and the idea of turning everyday items into something a little bit special.

Everything is handmade by me, usually from my home workspace (often with a cup of tea nearby), and includes pieces such as stitched items, felted creations, resin pieces, jewellery, and upcycled or embellished accessories. No two items are ever exactly the same – I love that handmade means perfectly imperfect.

I don’t have cats… but I do have three completely mental dogs, who keep life loud, chaotic, and never boring. They’re not much help in the studio, but they’re excellent morale boosters.
