I'm Claire and I'm pleased to meet you. I'm a self taught polymer clay artist and jewellery maker. I've always been a creative soul and I settled on polymer clay as my primary medium about 18 months ago and love to sell at local craft fairs and markets. I like cats, old things, old people, old music and anything colourful.

I started making and selling full time when I had to give up my beloved job as a wellbeing coordinator for dementia with challenging behaviour, after my back condition worsened and left me disabled. I have 4 adult children, 2 of them are gender fluid, 3 are neurodiverse, and 1 is disabled...all of this gives me a deep admiration for each individuals expression and style, which translates into my work, I champion your uniqueness, so I will only ever make small batches of products, and because I don't like waste, I constantly recondition and reuse any scrap clay into new designs.

The name, L'al Maggie, is a tribute to my much loved and missed grandad, it was his nickname for me from when I was tiny. My work is eclectic, sometimes colourful, fun and funky, sometimes simple, pretty and elegant and I love making floral designs. Often I plan, sometimes I wing it, but I always think about how it will look on you and how it will make you feel.

Lightweight, and hypoallergenic with stainless steel for hygiene and durability, my work is some of the most comfortable jewellery you'll ever wear, I wear it myself and I hope you love owning and wearing it as much as I love making it.
