Welcome to Kenobi — botanical inks and natural colours crafted from the everyday beauty I find in both London and Hong Kong.
As an Urban Nature Storyteller, I gather materials from Hong Kong, London and other parts of the world: fallen oak branches from London parks, discarded leaves from Hong Kong’s banyan trees, and seasonal botanicals used in traditional Chinese herbal culture.
Every source carries its own history, its own quiet poetry.
Each ink is made slowly and intentionally —
washed, simmered, hand-extracted, filtered, and bottled in small batches.
No two inks are ever the same; each reflects the season, the city, and the plant it came from.
I honour three practices in my work:
1.Urban Nature — finding wildness and beauty in dense, bustling cities
2.Cultural Craft — integrating East Asian dye traditions and Chinese herbal wisdom
3.Everyday Aesthetics — inspired by the Japanese idea of Kenobi — “beauty in daily life”
