Hi, I'm Jen and I'm a hobby potter.
I first fell in love with pottery a few years back on an experience day with my husband. The bug wouldn't quit, so I decided to take a few courses. Quite quickly, some basic talent developed and my head has been bursting with ideas ever since. I set up a home studio (my personal sanctuary), sold some bits at small local markets, and even sold at my first gallery. The warm fuzzy feeling of having somebody love my creation enough to take it home is now the reason I create.
I want to create that little bit of happiness you get when you use that item you love.
Most of my work is functional for this reason. Why can't a soap dish be beautiful as well as useful? But I also occasionally create simply visual sculptures, just to get the inspiration to stop swirling around my head.
I work primarily in stoneware, using both wheel throwing and hand building, sometimes combining the two.
