Hello, and thank you for visiting my ceramic pottery shop!
I work from my home studio in Devon, near the beautiful Jurassic Coast and the quaint town of Lyme Regis, with its famous Cobb. I love working with all types of clay, using slab work, coiling, and sculpting techniques. Each piece is unique due to its handmade nature and natural materials.
My passion for pottery began when I was at school, taking Art as one of my chosen exam subjects. Later, in my twenties, I attended a pottery evening class where I found creating unique pieces was a truly wonderful experience and were great gifts for my friends and family.
After having my three children, I entered the corporate world, working with a skin-care company. A few years later, I gave up my role and moved with my family to live nearer to the coast on the Devon/Dorset border.
I have always been interested in health and well-being, and in the early 90’s I began training in various complementary disciplines. I was thrilled to be invited by three medical centres to set up and run weekly clinics. I also taught professional complementary courses. I latterly trained as a practitioner in distant healing energy, and I now run my practice from my home.
About 4 years ago, my sister signed up to a pottery course. It became the topic of nearly all our conversations. I soon realised she was having so much fun. So, it became my mission to find a course. It took me over a year to find one, I immediately signed up; it was amazing! I attended several 5-day workshops run by a pottery school in Somerset. The course helped me to increase my knowledge and improve my pottery skills. I picked up loads of tips and ideas from the tutor and it gave me the confidence to invest in my own kiln.
I feel it’s important for everyone to challenge themselves and learn new skills. ‘Playing with clay’ is very creative and fun. I find it meditative and life-enhancing.
