Fancy cards, new takes, classic styles

Welcome to my folksy shop where you will find my playing cards and tarot cards.

I made my first set of playing cards in 2016. Altogether now I have made seven sets of playing cards and two sets of tarot cards (some in more than one edition).

The designs for most of my sets of cards are based on this history of playing cards and tarot: a rich and fascinating history, with some designs that evolved over hundreds of years into modern standards, and others that were one-offs, or that somehow faded away.

When making cards, I usually draw on paper first, and then colour by different approaches depending on the project, sometimes digitally, sometimes with watercolour. The cards are printed by well regarded playing card printers on playing card stock.
