Hello! Welcome to Beyond the field designs. I'm Jayne, I live in the Staffordshire Moorlands with my husband, two children and lively Cavapoo, Ralph!
Beyond the field designs was established in 2023 after I turned the big 40 and decided that life's too short to not try and fulfill those childhood dreams ; one of them being owning a craft shop!
Creativity has always been a part of who I am; alongside a love of nature and the countryside so combining the two seemed to make sense.
I studied a Design:Crafts degree at Staffordshire University and enjoyed experimenting with a variety of techniques, materials and processes. I was often drawn to making items that were functional as well as visually appealing.
My work usually begins as a quick snap on my mobile whilst on a local family walk or a more considered shot on the "proper camera"!I like to look closely at the details of wild flowers or look for interesting shapes and patterns and silhouettes formed by branches and grasses. Once home I zoom in and crop my images until I've created patterns that I'm happy with. I apply the patterns to various items using a process called sublimation using transfer papers and a heat press.
My practice is still evolving and I'm experimenting with adding new items to my range. So watch this space and thank you for taking an interest in Beyond the field designs!
