Here are some things just listed by other crafters and sellers on Folksy.
Working predominately with stoneware, I produce my pieces with a mixture of techniques including throwing and hand-building. Though I fire my works in an electric kiln, I occassionally do create pieces through barrel firing techniques and raku firings. I am such a pottery nerd, I am always open to learn new methods and techniques that I slowly introduce into my work.
I am inspired by the world around me infusing my work with the textures and forms that I see in nature and in human cultures. My work is characterised by rich colours and complex glazing giving the pieces a depth within the surface decoration that enhances the form. I create artful pieces for everyday use as I truly believe that something simple as eating a meal out of a beautiful bowl can bring a spark of joy to a person’s day. Nevertheless, I do enjoy marking my year with various holidays so you will find some fun seasonal treasures as well. In addition to my homeware pieces, my studio work is defined by sculptural vessels and totemic forms that explore the natural world, music, history and literature.
My studio is located on our farm in Oxfordshire. Boarding on the ancient woodland of Bernwood, this clay rich area was a centre for medieval pottery making, a heritage I am proud to continue.
In addition to selling my work through Folksy, I also sell at local markets and shops in the Oxfordshire / Buckinghamshire area.
