variety is the spice of life ... unique arts and crafts

Inspired by words since childhood, quotes poetry and song lyrics spark my imagination and sometimes feature in my artwork.
On my creative journey, places evoke memories/feelings, tapping into the essential elements of place/time underlying my work.
Recurring motifs include circles, moons, suns, trees, waves and plants.

I craft fine art prints/photographs, original acrylic/watercolour paintings, etchings/linocuts/collographs, on Japanese, handmade or traditional papers. The hybrid works often have collaged prints/handmade paper/photos/found objects/embroidery.
I also make cards, sundry items and paper from upcycled materials.

Art developed mid life, as child rearing was finishing. Textile based at first often featuring hand embroidery, a skill learned at school, and recently rekindled. I began paper making and a love of this, fine art photography and printmaking grew during an Access course in Art and Design at Chesterfield College of Art.

My architectural photos of Sheffield won competitions from Practical Photography, The Institution of Civil Engineers and Dronfield Art Festival. They are also in a book 'Sheffield a Civilised Place' available to buy from The Famous Sheffield Shop. And in a free downloadable PDF leaflet of a walk around significant civil engineering in central Sheffield by Duncan Froggatt.

Working mainly in my studio (ex dining room) looking onto our lovely garden, I also enjoy working at the kitchen table.
I love my printing press, tools, equipment, paints and paper that I hoard and drool over!

I sell at selected craft fairs and exhibit locally, often with Sheffield Printmakers.
