About WendyJBrownJewellery

WendyJBrownJewellery

Silver necklaces, silver pendants, silver bangles, silver bracelets, silver stud earrings, silver dangly earrings - i make them all!

I love making handmade silver jewellery and it’s become a passionate hobby. I have a studio setup at home (it’s cosy in the cellar!) and have been working with silver for over 10 years. I still get a buzz every time someone likes a piece enough to want to buy it, gift it or wear it.

I have a particular fascination with Australian Boulder Opals – ever since i bought my first one at my local evening class. I have taught myself to set these free form stones to make elegant statement pendants.. not an easy task as they are all uniquely individual in their thickness and shape. I buy all my stones direct from the mines in Australia and spend hours choosing them for their distinct colouring and pattern. It’s like Christmas every time the postman delivers the little packets from Australia and i absolutely love the process of setting them in Sterling silver.

In case you are wondering what tools I have at my disposal to make all these pieces, I can tell you that the most commonly used (by me at least) are simple hammers, pliers, files and saw blades. And a blow torch. That might be my favourite : )
