In my dedicated workshop in Oxfordshire I love nothing more than being able to immerse myself in making bags, purses, key rings, well just about anything I can think of in the wonderfully versatile Harris Tweed fabric. I started sewing as a child when I first made my own clothes on a borrowed Singer sewing machine and have never stopped. I started making bags about ten years ago for my friends and family, progressing to selling at local craft fairs as Ellie’s Handbags - named after my first make of a felt elephant at just five years old, which I still have 60 + years later !
Most of my bags are unique in fabric choice as I rarely make more than one in any one fabric design.
I have since started to design and make simple friendship bracelets and key rings which keeps me busy me when I am unable to sew.
