About SmithySeaGlass

SmithySeaGlass

Using sea glass to get creative.

I live in a coastal village in East Yorkshire but grew up in North London and have lived all over the country.

I retired from teaching in 2017, but it was only summer 2019 that I discovered that the beach my husband and I had been walking the dogs ( a bouncy Lab and an old, ploddy spaniel) on, had sea glass on it and that it could be recycled (or should it be upcycled) to make all sorts of lovely items.

I work as a part time, self employed counsellor in a primary school. Finishing the extra study needed for this role coincided with finding out about the local seaglass. My journey into what can be created using seaglass continues to be an exciting one. My husband has mastered drilling for me and provides QA for me. I have developed skills I never knew were in me. I have met so many interesting people, who have been generous with their encouragement. So here I am. Still learning. Still hoping to find different colours on the beach.
