I have a growing passion in the watercolour art world.

All my paintings are created either in our Narrowboat home or away in our caravan. I love to see people enjoying and displaying my art. I also love a challenge and recreate artwork from photographs.
I always thought I couldn’t ‘do’ art – ‘I can’t draw to save my life’ was my mantra.
My husband has always dabbled in drawing and painting, but the nearest I came to was crafting hand-made cards from various elements. I was quite good at that, but really need so much stock to make a variety of cards.
During lock down and being unable to work while struggling with bad vertigo, I was getting quite bored.
We were watching a series of watercolour challenge on T.V. and I was tempted to have a go myself, but didn’t know where to start.
After watching loads of Youtube videos I found Charles Evans who paints watercolours with a simple method with only a few brushes and a limited number of colours. This guy really inspired me.
Hubby already had all the Charles Evans brushes and colours, as he’d tried out this method about 15 years ago, but didn’t get on with it. So, I decided to give it a go.
My first few paintings were pretty awful and I nearly gave up and was tempted to fall back on the ‘oh I can’t paint’ declaration. But, I was hooked, I really wanted to do this, I wanted to improve my technique and create better art. I’ve not looked back since.
