I am a Yorkshire based artist specialising in watercolour and mixed media illustrative art.

Based in Calderdale, West Yorkshire I am lucky enough to work full time as an artist, working primarily with watercolours and slowly experimenting more and more with mixed media and up cycled elements. My art is illustrative, influenced no doubt by my previous life as a professional librarian specialising in children's libraries. All those gorgeous book illustrations were a constant delight. I love to paint nature - flora and fauna and, am completely inspired by northern landscapes.

I have always sketched and painted and had my own set of 'proper' watercolours from a very early age. I should have gone to uni and studied art as a teen but didn't (a long story) - however working as a librarian / archivist for many years was a complete joy and, being able to arrive back at my creative self in the last few years is amazing. Eventually, it'll pay the bills..... ;)
