Handmade Suncatchers in Stained Glass - lots and lots of them for sale in my JOYSofGlass Folksy Shop.
My glass is a Joy, I hope it is for you too.
All sorts of lovely things for yourself or for you to give as presents so please come in and have a look.
If you are looking for something specific of mine then please add my shop name JOYSOFGLASS to your search term and it will then only include listings from my shop. eg. JOYSOFGLASS BUTTERFLY will show you lots of butterflies but only mine.
You can see more about me and my glass on my JOYSOFGLASS website http://joysofglass.co.uk/
I try always to keep a good stock and selection of pieces but most designs I only keep one colour version in at a time.
Please contact me if you want something else or maybe something I have sold that you would like. I can always make more, always slightly different of course but to whatever pattern, colour you prefer.
Please note also that I do sell things elsewhere and it is sometimes possible that one of the things on sale here will have been sold before I have the chance to make another and change the advert, photo on here to match the new one.
If it then gets sold here on Folksy as well I will make another to match the one advertised as closely as possible but it will always be unique as it is impossible to make an exact match.
What do I make? Anything and everything that I can think of that someone might like, which would make a totally unique and special present for a birthday, Christmas, Easter ,Valentine or Mothers Day. If it is cutable from glass then I make it.
I've been making stained glass since attending a WI course early in 2008 where I made a leaded glass window. (which now resides at the top of our internal kitchen door).
I quite quickly converted the skills learned there to the Tiffany copper foil technique of my suncatchers and have not looked back since.
For the last few years I've also had a glass fusing kiln but it is only small so all fused glass pieces I make are small and or one-offs.
I use Art glass for my creations and have a really good supply of all different type, colours and textures. I buy it all new and don't waste any of it. I cannot bear to throw even the tiniest scrap away. Obviously when I cut out my pieces there are off-cuts so I collect the bigger pieces in lots of colour sorted tubs to reuse when I need smaller pieces for my suncatchers and the bits which are too small to reuse I store in a crate. I then sell these as cullet , scrap glass where they are used in mosaics.
Terms and Conditions
A few details in case you would like to buy any of my glass:
I try to ensure that every piece I make is unique. In fact, with glass, it is very difficult to make an exact replica just by the nature of the materials. So if you have something of mine then no-one else will have one exactly like it.
-------------------------------------------------------
You can buy directly from my Folksy shop. If it is listed on there then it is normally in stock, but just occasionally I sell it elsewhere and don't have time to remove it / mark it as *Sold*.
If you order something I no longer have I will very quickly make you another or refund you if you prefer.
-------------------------------------------------------
On Folksy payment is either via Paypal and you can use that even if you don't have a Paypal account. When you buy from there I receive an email to say so and another from Paypal to say payment has gone through which confirms your postal details and any special instructions you might have.
Or you can now also pay via Stripe which means you can use your credit / debit card directly.
I always do my best to acknowledge your purchase by email as soon as possible after you have made it and will let you know when I am posting it (normally same or next day) so you will know when to expect it.
I am happy to make most things in a different colours and just need a note from you to say what you would like. If you do order something special like this via Folksy I will put it up on there for you as soon as it is ready, marked as Reserved for you and will send you a message to say that it is there for you to order.
I am very happy to take commissions and will do my very best to make anything you would like. If you have something in mind but can't find it in my photo galleries then please ask. I may not have made one yet but if you want one, then I soon will.
I package all my glass with great care, and lots of bubble wrap, for postage and try hard to post out, same day if early enough but certainly next day.
If for some reason I can't post out immediately I will let you know straight away.
I should note that because glass is fragile and I really would hate to send you something which arrived with you in a million pieces, I post most things out in rigid plastic lidded boxes.
One day I may find a more environmentally friendly option but currently I cannot find anything which does the job of the boxes I use.
See-through… so I can immediately tell what is in each box, air-tight to keep the glass clean and shiny, light-weight to reduce postal costs, look nice enough to use to hold my glass at fairs and markets and above all else beautifully protective.
They are also reusable as well as making an attractive presentation container if the glass is to be gifted.
Please note that because of the packaging I use to keep my glass safe I have to send it small package size and that won't go through the letter box. So if you have a safe place and the package has not arrived within a couple of days of my posting it please check if it has been left. My packages are Very carefully labelled and it is very rare for them to go missing in transit.
POSTAL CHARGES
Postage is charged individually on most of my pieces but I will part-refund postage where more than one piece is ordered to allow for combined postal charge. I do this as soon as I receive your order / have worked out what the total postage will be.
Please note that if you have paid using Stripe and not Paypal any postal refund may take longer to get back into your account. Sorry but that is the way that Stripe works.
I always post first class, my normal postal service from my local post office is very efficient and the majority of my parcels arrive next day. I use signed for first class where the value of the package needs a higher Royal Mail insurance value but not otherwise unless requested.
Worldwide postage
I have international postal rates set up on some of my listings which means you can buy my glass if you live in France, Sweden, America, Australia or anywhere really.
It you are not in the UK and no overseas rates are set up on a piece you want to buy then please message me and I will work out what the postal rate should be and set it up for you.
I will post individual orders up to £20 value using Royal Mail International Standard international airmail. Royal Mail limits package values for this type of post to £20.
Orders over £20 total value will be posted Royal Mail international tracked.
These rates are reflected in the postal price I have set on individual listings and where an order is for more than one piece will determine how much refund is given against the combined postage. Apologies if this is a bit complicated but international postal rates are more complex than those for the UK as weight is a key component of the price.
Customs and import taxes
..........................................
Buyers are responsible for any customs and import taxes that may apply. I'm sorry but I cannot be responsible for delays due to customs.

Please note - my stained glass is just that - made of glass
. I construct each piece to be as strong as possible and finish with a polish to a shine with a little car wax. I attach a chain to the top via a soldered ring and split rings which means the chain can be shortened or replaced easily and I include a suction hook for hanging. Note that a few pieces, mainly the smaller ones, are hung from strong fishing line rather than chain.
My glass, being glass, is a little fragile so please treat with care. It does respond well to a gentle wash in warm soapy water when dusty.
