Hi, I'm Sandra, an animal portrait artist from Bristol.

I have been drawing animals since I was a child. In my adult years I got distracted from the pleasure I get from drawing but have recently been reminded of the pleasure and intense focus I get from drawing.
I like to draw portraits of animals particularly horses and dogs both of which I have and love. I tend to focus on the face and in particular the eyes to try to capture the character. My portraits are in mixed media but mainly pastels. They tend to be bright as I feel this captures the joy in our animal friends.
