About Emma Waller Ceramics

Emma Waller Ceramics

I’m a firm believer that ghosts and skulls are not just for Halloween!

I make ceramics and tufted rugs from my home in Cornwall.

There will always be a variety of items available to inspire and enjoy.

Honestly, I’m influenced by so many things around me that it often makes my head hurt!
I’ve always loved making skulls and hearts, animals and plants, miniature things and food. Sometimes with a slightly spooky darker side and sometimes cute.
You will find a very varied subject matter in my shop.

Ceramic items are all handmade by me using various types of clay, usually earthenware, with underglaze, oxides and glazes. I’m a fan of matt surfaces so sometimes have to remember to pop a few shiny bits in from time to time.

I’ve recently started making tufted rugs, often influenced by the subject matter of my ceramic work. I love the faster making process in contrast to the slower pace of making ceramics.
Rugs are made using acrylic yarn and made to decorate rather than for a daily heavy traffic area. They’ve been put to the test by my family so feel free to chuck them on the floor but I prefer hanging them on the wall.

After studying ceramics in the busy city of Bath many years ago I took a very long break from clay. I now enjoy the slower pace of life in Cornwall.
My home is full of rocks, sea glass, beach finds and inevitably sand.
I make things whenever I can, working around a busy home life caring for my child who also shares my love of craft and collecting.
