I am a Cyanotype Printer who makes wearable and useable art!
In 2023, at the ripe old age of 50, I graduated from Plymouth University with a Fine Art Degree. On my four year journey, of doing my degree, I discovered Cyanotype printing and fell in love with working with this media, It still amazes me that the sun's UV rays can capture the delicate outline of foliage with a background of deep rich blue. From my abstract installations at university to now producing saleable and usable art to compliment your home, such as lampshades, cushions, napkins and tea towels to wearable art like hand printed tote bags and silk scarves.
In addition to Cyanotype printing, I like to make jewellery. I use different materials in my making such as sea glass, enamel, resin and sterling silver creating different styles but all inspired by the surroundings of where I live in Cornwall.
Since graduating I opened a gallery, Bowji Cornwall in Mevagissey, where I sell other artist's work who also live and work in Cornwall. The heart of the shop is ceramics, we have some of the best makers here in Cornwall, I sell their tableware and sculptures. As well as this we sell original paintings, original art cards, my Cyanotype wares, handmade jewellery, glass art and some amazing wood art.
