About Bachzigns

Bachzigns

We create in wood using old and new techniques to produce fun items.

BaChZigns is a partnership between Barbara and Charlie, we work together on projects or individually. This depends on the design we are crafting. Our aim is to use locally sourced materials or re use older timber products, as we feel the need to reduce travel miles in our pieces. We love the natural world and want to preserve it for future generations, we use solar power where possible, in our studio/workshop.
Our designs are made in house, items generally in wood and sometime resin, occasionally in metal. We use pyrography to some of our work, to add to the wood experience and make each item unique we add a note to describe the design and influences. Where possible we like to add function to the pieces, our selection of timber includes the various features that traditionally would be avoided in joinery, highlighting knots splits and crazy grain markings. This use of timber can be more challenging, but the outcome is amazing to see.
Charlie has over 50 years knowledge of woodworking and design, from boatbuilding to furniture. Barbara has the vision to see opportunities in the different materials we use and is a wood turner, she has led BaChZigns to be more art driven in the use of wood. Under her guidance we make pieces of wood art with a function.

Buying from me

BaChZigns is a partnership between Barbara & Charlie.
Charlie has over 50 years’ experience in woodworking and design. Barbara is a wood turner and together we make a wood art. We aim to source local materials and vegan free finishing products and use solar power wherever possibly in our workshop
Currently we make a variety of wood art ranging from clocks, small tables, shaving brushes and stands, chopping boards, wooden jewellery and wood working hand planes.

You have 14 days, from receipt, to notify the seller if you wish to cancel your order or exchange an item.

Please note: Unless faulty, the following types of items are non-refundable: items that are personalised, bespoke or made-to-order to your specific requirements; personal items sold with a hygiene seal (cosmetics, underwear) in instances where the seal is broken.
