Allwright Fine Jewellery

Fine jeweller enjoying the craft of working with precious metals and stones

On my fourth birthday, I was given a present from my parents and grandparents: a bracelet with a single silver teddy bear charm on it. Over the years for birthdays I was given more charms - a windmill, a basket, a dolphin, a saucepan, a frog, a heart, a shell with a pearl in it - and each time I was given a charm, the bracelet went to the jeweller's for the charms to be soldered on. After many years of wear, the links got thin, some of them broke and eventually the bracelet ended up in the drawer, but the wish to have it repaired always remained, until...

I had an opportunity to take a short course at my local college. I chose silversmithing, and the rest followed on from there.

In 2012, I set up my own workshop and gradually transitioned to working as a jeweller fulltime after having completed a one-year stone-setting course, followed by a CAD Design course at the Birmingham School of Jewellery and gaining valuable experience working as a bench jeweller for a designer jeweller in Hereford for a number of years.

I have recently renamed my Folksy shop from Wilde Works to Allwright Fine Jewellery to split my stone-set collections from my contemporary work (see: www.wildeworks.co.uk) while I explore new directions in jewellery.

The pieces created for my Folksy shop are entirely handmade using recycled silver and gold, and ethically-sourced gemstones. None of my gemstones have been sourced from Russia since its invasion of Ukraine.

I use techniques such as sawing, filing, soldering, forming, stone-setting, roll-printing and texturing. Quality and craftmanship are of the utmost importance.

All my packaging is recycled, recyclable, re-usable or compostable.

I originally studied languages and worked abroad as a translator for many years.

I fell in love with the pendant when I saw it. I live in The Netherlands and received the package in 10 days, perfect! The unboxing was a little party. Nicely wrapped and with a lovely handwritten note.
If I get the chance, I would definately buy again from Wilde Works.

Amazing quality, very fast turnaround and postage. Little bit to early to say if my other half loves it but I’m sure she will. Thanks so much!!!
